File Err Msg: "Error in Find Text"

Last reviewed: October 27, 1994
Article ID: Q41501

Summary:

When the Find command is used in Microsoft File, the question mark (?) or asterisk (*) wildcard symbols cannot be used in any search string containing a comma. The comma represents a logical "OR" as in the search string A,B (find A or B). For example, the two search strings A*,B and A,B? produce the following error message:

     Error in Find Text

For more information about using the Find command in Microsoft File, see pages 91 and 210 of the "Microsoft File for the Apple Macintosh" manual.
