Running Word in DOS then OS/2 Changes Display Mode

SUMMARY

Running Word in DOS or in the 3.x box and then running Word in a protected-mode session resets the display mode to 1.

There are two sets of video modes in the SCREEN.VID file: one set for DOS and one set for OS/2. Each set is unavailable under the other operating system. When Word tries to restore a DOS video mode under OS/2, it fails, so Word takes the first available mode. This result also occurs when going from OS/2 protected mode to DOS or the 3.x box.
