The information in this article applies to:
- Microsoft Works for the Macintosh, versions 2.0, 3.0, and 4.0

SUMMARY

For objects to line up with exact ruler markings (and with each other) in the Microsoft Works draw layer or draw module, they must be drawn with the Grid On option already selected.

MORE INFORMATION

Each object in the draw layer has its own starting reference point with respect to the Works grid. Therefore, objects that are drawn before the grid is turned on cannot be aligned to any “absolute” grid after they are drawn. They will move in increments equal to the appropriate grid settings when Grid On is selected, and will do so relative to their original position, not relative to the marks on the ruler. The same is true of graphics pasted in from another application.

In Works 4.0 you can also use the Alignment Tool located on the toolbar to align several objects to the grid.
