The information in this article applies to:
- Microsoft Word for the Macintosh versions 4.0, 5.0, and 5.1

SUMMARY

If you are working with a color monitor and apply the color white (Character format) to text, that text will not be visible on a white background unless you choose Show Paragraph from the Edit menu.

In Microsoft Word for Macintosh, this will also occur if the text is formatted as black on a black background.

This automatic change in color makes the text more editable.

MORE INFORMATION

Text formatted as black with Border Shading of 95-100% will appear as white with the paragraph markers on.

Text formatted as white with Border Shading of 0-59% will appear as black with paragraph markers on.

NOTE: This only applies to Black and White text.
