Summary:
When using non-LaserWriter fonts, the result may be a very rough- looking output, even when the smoothing function is enabled.
This problem occurs only with the LaserWriter driver version 5.2 or later, and it occurs because Word does not recognize the new driver configuration for smoothing (both “text” and “graphic” smoothing). This problem does not occur in earlier versions of the LaserWriter driver (version 5.1 or earlier) or in earlier versions of Word (versions 1.x).
Microsoft has confirmed this to be a problem in versions 3.00, 3.01, and 3.02. We are researching this problem and will post new information as it becomes available.
