ANIMATE with (+C) Switch Performs Incorrectly in COBOL 3.0

PSS ID Number: Q40320 Article last modified on 04-20-1993

3.00 | 3.00 MS-DOS | OS/2

The information in this article applies to:
- Microsoft COBOL for MS-DOS and OS/2, version 3.0

Summary: The (+C) switch is undocumented in the “Microsoft COBOL Version 3.0: Operating Guide.” One of its uses is to enable ANIMATE to make full use of a 43-line mode text screen. The MS-DOS comand-line syntax is as follows: ANIMATE (+C) progname When operating in 43-line mode from the MS-DOS environment, the ANIMATE distributed with Microsoft COBOL Version 3.0 still only displays on the first 25 lines of the screen. Microsoft has confirmed this to be a problem in Version 3.0. Version 3.0a correctly displays on all 43 lines when the (+C) ANIMATE switch is used.
