SUMMARY

Files created in Word versions 2.x, 3.x, 4.00, 5.00, and 5.50 are fully compatible and can be loaded directly into any other version of Word.

The style sheets are also fully compatible; you may notice some minor differences but the formats of the styles are still retained.

Any style sheet styles created in Word 2.x using paragraph variants 57-71 will be changed to predefined variants such as Heading Levels, Index Levels, and Table Levels in Word versions 3.x, 4.x, 5.00, and 5.50. You can either use them as is or change the variant with the Name command on the Gallery menu.

Style sheets created in Word 3.x, 4.00, 5.00, and 5.50 are fully compatible with Word 2.x. Predefined paragraph or character styles in Word 3.x, 4.00, 5.00, and 5.50 that are not in Word 2.x will be assigned to variant numbers in Word 2.x.
