SUMMARY

Word version 4.00 provides several shortcut or “hot spot” areas that can be double-clicked to bring up the appropriate dialog box or window. The following table lists all of the hot spots available in Word version 4.00:

Tab stop or tab icon (on the ruler) Tabs dialog box (from Paragraph)

Anywhere else on ruler Paragraph dialog box

Page number area (lower-left corner) Go To dialog box

Style name area (to right of Define Styles dialog box page-number area)

Section mark Section dialog box

Footnote reference mark Footnote window, positioned at that footnote

Corners of page in Page View Document dialog box (outside margins)

Paragraph properties mark Paragraph dialog box (in selection bar in Show or Position dialog box Paragraph mode)

Split bar box New pane (splits window in half in vertical scroll bar or closes split pane)
