SUMMARY
Word Message: “Enter measurement in lines or type Auto”
You are in the “line spacing:” field of the Format Paragraph command. This field sets line spacing within paragraphs. A line is 12 points (1/6-inch) high. You can do one of the following:
- Type the number of lines for spacing (for example, 1 for single spacing, 2 for double spacing). To enter a unit of measure different than lines, follow the number with one of these appropriate abbreviations: in, cm, or pt.
- Type the word Auto. This command instructs Word to set the line spacing to automatically match the point size of the largest character found in each line.
