The information in this article applies to:
- Microsoft Word for the Macintosh, version 4.0

SUMMARY

If a single cell is selected in a multiple-column table created with the Insert Table command in Word version 4.00 and then COMMAND+OPTION+D is pressed to convert the selection to a graphic in the Clipboard, the entire row of that table will be converted. This behavior is by program design.

To convert only the contents of the cell (without cell formatting, such as borders), do the following:

  1. Drag the I-beam cursor across the contents to select them.
  2. Press COMMAND+OPTION+D.

To convert a single cell with the cell formatting (such as borders) do the following:

  1. Select the cell.
  2. Choose Copy from the Edit menu.
  3. Choose New from the File menu.
  4. Choose Paste from the Edit menu.
  5. Select the cell again.
  6. Press COMMAND+OPTION+D.

The above procedures convert the selection to a graphic in the Clipboard. This graphic can then be pasted into another Word document or another application.
