Summary: Microsoft COBOL Versions 3.0 and 3.0a will not display any Compiler header information on the screen when you use a Video 7 Vega VGA in color 80 x 43-line mode or higher. Compile errors, if any, also are not displayed. Everything works normally in 80 x 25-line mode, or in 80 x 43 black and white (monochrome) line mode. This was tested on the Video 7 Vega VGA VegaBIOS Versions 1.41 and 1.47. To work around the visibility problem, set your video mode to either 80 x 25 or 80 x 43 black and white.
