INF: Getting Code Segment Names in HEAPWALK ID Number: Q39336

3.00 WINDOWS

Summary

The [HeapWalk] section of the WIN.INI file has the flag SegNames that controls the display of the segment names. This flag is toggled by choosing the Label Segments selection from the Sort menu.

If HEAPWALK is evoked from the Program Manager, it most likely will be “looking” in some directory other than the current work directory. Thus, it will not see the .SYM files for the application if the application is not in a directory on the path. To avoid this problem, spawn HEAPWALK from the current work directory where the application and its .SYM files are located. To spawn HEAPWALK, issue the following command from the MS-DOS Executive or the File Manager:

File Run “HEAPWALK”
