The information in this article applies to:
- Microsoft Word for the Macintosh, version 4.0

SUMMARY

Page 53 in the “Reference to Microsoft Word” version 4.0 manual incorrectly refers to the option to restart footnote numbering as Restart Each Section. This option actually changes depending on the selection of placement of the footnotes. When either Bottom Of Page or Beneath Text is selected for Footnote location, this option actually reads Restart Each Page. Turning on this option numbers the footnotes from “1” on each page. If End of Section is specified, then the option changes to Restart Each Section. If End of Document is selected, the option is disabled.
