SUMMARY

The “Reference to Microsoft Word” version 4.0 manual, page 3, the last sentence of the last full paragraph, makes an incorrect statement about the effect of a section break in the middle of a justified paragraph.

The correct statement should read as as follows:

When you enter a section break (in a justified paragraph), Word expands the line before the section break to the right indent. Inserting a page break or end-of-line mark has the same effect.

If you do not want the line of text before a section break to expand and fill the line, insert a carriage return at the end of the line.
