Text Extends beyond Right Border of Paragraph

SUMMARY

In Word Version 4.00, the Format Border command incorrectly displays text beyond the right paragraph border (whether it is part of a box or lines) when the following conditions occur:

  1. The Options “measure:” field is set to P12 or Pt.
  2. The Options “printer display:” field is set to Yes.

Redrawing the screen by pressing CTRL+SHIFT+ does not correct the problem. Although the text is incorrectly displayed beyond the border on the screen, the printer prints the text correctly within the border. If the Options “measure:” field is set to In, Cm, or P10, the screen correctly displays the border around the paragraph.

Microsoft has confirmed this to be a problem with Word Version 4.00. This problem was corrected in Version 5.00.
