Summary:

In Microsoft Word for Windows, occasionally automatic page breaks occur in the middle of pages in a document.

This problem may occur if you select formatting that changes pagination, such as Keep Lines Together, Keep With Next Paragraph, or Page Break Before. To cancel this formatting simultaneously, use the following steps:

  1. Select the entire document. (CTRL+Keypad 5)

  2. From the Format menu, choose Paragraph.

  3. Clear each of the following options:

    Word for Windows version 1.x

    1. In the Keep paragraph box, clear Together.

    2. In the Keep paragraph box, clear With Next.

    3. Clear Page Break Before.

    Word for Windows version 2.0

    1. In the Pagination group box clear the following options:

      Page Break Before Keep With Next Keep Lines Together

    If the check box is unavailable, click on the option twice. If the check box is selected, click on the option once.

  4. Choose the OK button and repaginate the document.
