SUMMARY

The IBM extended character set comprises 256 characters, which have ASCII decimal number designations from 0 to 255. The null character is ASCII code 0 (zero) and is the only one that cannot be replaced; all other characters (from 1 to 255) can be searched for, or replaced.

You can search for or replace ASCII characters either by typing the key or entering the ASCII decimal equivalent. The ASCII code can be entered by holding down the ALT key and entering the decimal equivalent on the numeric keypad.
