SUMMARY

In Microsoft Word for the Macintosh, to work without a slanted cursor when typing or editing italic text, use the Italic Cursor command in the Commands dialog box to turn off the italic cursor. In Word versions 5.0 and 5.1, the Commands dialog box is accessed by choosing Commands from the Tools menu. In Word version 4.0, the Commands dialog box is accessed by choosing Commands from the Edit menu.

From the Commands dialog box, the Italic Cursor command can be added to a menu or assigned a key sequence for easy access.
