SUMMARY

In Word 5.00, text modes were added to make it is possible to change the foreground color for character attributes or font sizes. This is done by pressing F1 in the “colors:” field of the Options menu.

Next to each item, the words “sample text” are shown in the currently selected foreground and background colors. Menus, prompts, and the status line will not show the background color. You can use the arrow keys to select the item to change, then press PGUP or PGDN to scroll through the available foreground colors, or press a letter to directly assign a color. The “colors:” field in the Options menu does not accept text.

The color settings are saved in the file titled MW.INI.
