SUMMARY

In Microsoft Word for the Macintosh, block selection (press OPTION and drag) selects an entire column if it is used within a table created with the Insert Table command. This information should be included on page 163 of the “Reference to Microsoft Word” version 4.0 manual.

Note: You must be in Full Menus to use this feature.

MORE INFORMATION

In Word versions 5.0 and later, pressing OPTION and clicking the mouse button in a table selects an entire column as it does in Word version 4.0; however, Full Menus is not an option in Word versions 5.0 and later.

The “Microsoft Word User’s Guide” for version 5.0 and 5.1 correctly states on page 319 that the OPTION key can be used to select an entire column. Also, on page 90 of the user’s guide, there is a reference to selecting columns of a table.
