SUMMARY

You cannot double-space an outline in Microsoft Word for MS-DOS while in outline view. If the line spacing is set by using the Format Paragraph command or by using a heading-level style, the outline will be double-spaced in document view but not in outline view. Character formatting appears in both document and outline view, while paragraph formatting appears only in document view.

You can make an outline appear double-spaced by pressing ENTER between heading entries to insert blank lines.
