SUMMARY

To reverse the functions of a Microsoft Mouse to enable it to work upside-down, mouse extension cable can be modified by crossing two pairs of wires.

MORE INFORMATION

In inverted form, the mouse is usable by handicapped persons, who can operate the buttons with the heel of the hand. By modifying a mouse extension cable (part number 073-399-010), the mouse functions can be inverted without opening the mouse and voiding the warranty.

To modify the cable properly, carefully open a section of the cable, and cross the white-and-brown wires, and the yellow-and-gray wires. Leave the rest of the wires intact.
