SUMMARY

In Mircosoft Word for MS-DOS graphics are shown only in Print Preview mode; they appear at the correct location on the page, with the correct size relative to the page. If the “draft field:” in Print Options is set to Yes, the graphics will not be displayed, but empty spaces will be left for them. If they have borders, the border will be shown around the empty space.

In normal edit mode with Show Layout off, only the .G. sequence will be shown (if hidden text is shown) at the place where it was inserted in the document, regardless of whether it is absolutely positioned or not. In normal edit mode mode with Show Layout on, the graphics will be shown as an empty box with the correct size and at the correct location on the page. If it has the paragraph border property, this border will be shown. Otherwise, a dotted line will border the empty box. The .G. sequence will be inside the box/border if hidden text is shown. Otherwise, it will be empty.
