PSS ID Number: Q35280 Article last modified on 04-21-1993

3.00 | 3.00 MS-DOS | OS/2

The information in this article applies to:
- Microsoft COBOL for MS-DOS and OS/2, version 3.0

Summary: Under certain configurations of ADIS, COBOL Version 3.0 will display its own characters on the 25th line of the screen during an ACCEPT of a screen. COBOL uses the 25th line to display error messages and the type and status of the current field being accepted. This information overwrites any information that was previously on line 25 of the screen. This feature may be disabled by using the ADISCF program provided on the distribution disks.

More Information: To use ADISCF to remove the characters, use the following sequence of commands: 1. Run the program ADISCF.EXE. 2. The Initial menu allows you to select a configuration and alter it. Choose F2-Alter from this menu. 3. The Next menu is a list of things you may alter. Choose F7-Positions from this menu. 4. Place an “N” in each of the boxes under the “Display on Screen?” column for each of the different items displayed on the screen.
