Cut-Sheet Feeder Support for Okidata 393 Printer

SUMMARY
Word Versions 4.00 and 5.00 do not support the cut-sheet bin feeder that can be attached to the Okidata 393 printer. To work correctly with Word, the printer driver being used must be modified. With Word 4.00, it has been reported that LQ800.PRD should be used because the Okidata 393 printer is not directly supported. With Word Version 5.00, use OKI393.PRD.
With both versions of Word, change byte locations 38 and 42 in the PCSD from
Byte:38 mod:0 Byte:42 mod:0
to the following:
Byte:38 mod:0 “[Y^A” Byte:42 mod:0 “[YR”
With Word 5.00, the “Bins Supported” field in the model block must be modified to include Bin1.
This method enables the cut-sheet bin feeder when Bin1 is selected in the Print Options “feed:” field.
