The information in this article applies to:
- Microsoft COBOL for MS-DOS, versions 1.1, 1.12, 2.0, 2.1, 2.2, and 3.0 - Microsoft COBOL for OS/2, version 3.0

Summary: The Microsoft COBOL Compiler Versions 3.0 and earlier do not support a math coprocessor. Many languages either use (or emulate the use of) a mathematics coprocessor, such as an Intel 8087, 80287, or 80387 chip. COBOL does not take advantage of a coprocessor for its arithmetic operations.
