SUMMARY
In a document of 18 or more pages, Word will incorrectly add a column of numbers if any one of the numbers is in the range between -1 and +1, and if the number does not have a zero before the decimal point. Sometimes the error message:
Math overflow or underflow
appears.
For example, Word will incorrectly add the following column of numbers when it appears on or after Page 18 of a document:
4.8 1.4 1.0 .3
Microsoft has confirmed this to be a problem with Word Version 4.00. This problem was corrected in Word Version 5.00.
