SYMPTOMS

When you edit a Microsoft Word 2002 document, if you delete text from a table, the table splits at the point of deletion and several blank pages are inserted between the start of the table and the end of the table.

CAUSE

This problem occurs when the following conditions are true:

  1. The document is in print layout view.
  2. Display for Review is set to Final Showing Markup or Original Showing Markup while Track Changes is enabled.
  3. You run a Microsoft Visual Basic for Applications (VBA) macro that contains the following command:

    Options.DeletedTextMark = wdDeletedTextStrike

    .
  4. You delete text from a table cell.
  5. You change the Display for Review setting to either Final or Original.

To find the difference between UTC and local time, use the Time Zone tab in the Date and Time tool in Control Panel.

STATUS

Microsoft has confirmed that this is a problem in the Microsoft products that are listed at the beginning of this article. This problem was first corrected in Office XP Service Pack 3.
