Microsoft thanks you for taking the time to send us information about the program error that you just experienced. After investigating error reports provided by our users, our engineers devised a workaround for this problem. This article contains information that may help you avoid experiencing this problem again in the future.

ERROR SIGNATURE

This article describes a problem in which Microsoft Outlook unexpectedly quits (crashes) with the following error signature

   App Name      App Version    Module Name    Module Version  Offset
   ------------------------------------------------------------------------
   Outlook.exe   appversion     Spamnet.dll    version         0001c45f
        

where appversion is a number greater than or equal to 9.0.0.2416, and where version is a number greater than or equal to 0.9.9.3. Additionally, other offsets and module names are possible.

SYMPTOMS

When you use one of the Outlook products listed at the beginning of this article, you may receive the following error message:

Microsoft Outlook has encountered a problem and needs to close. We are sorry for the inconvenience.

When you view the data in the error report, the report contains an error signature similar to the error listed at the beginning of this article.

CAUSE

This problem may occur if the Cloudmark SpamNet Outlook add-in is installed on your computer.

NOTE: The Cloudmark SpamNet Outlook add-in is supported by Cloudmark Inc.

WORKAROUND

Cloudmark has released a later version of the SpamNet Outlook add-in (6g or later) that may contain a fix for this issue. You can download this add-in from the Cloudmark Web site listed below.

If the updated version of the SpamNet Outlook add-in does not fix this problem, contact Cloudmark Inc. to obtain assistance to remove the Cloudmark SpamNet Outlook add-in from your computer.
