SYMPTOMS
If you repeatedly start and stop the Logical Disk Manager administrative service, the net start or net stop command may stop responding (hang). This occurs because of a deadlock in Services.exe. If the command does not stop responding, any of the following problems may occur:
- A device change (such as inserting a CD-ROM) is not detected in Disk Management.
- The RegisterDeviceNotification function does not work correctly if you use DEVICE_NOTIFY_SERVICE_HANDLE.
