Session Summary

Secure Sockets Layer (SSL) encryption is new to Microsoft SQL Server 2000. In previous versions of SQL Server, we used the Multiprotocol Network library to encrypt the data between the client and server. During this session, we will talk about the different methods of using SSL encryption as well as different methods of deploying it. We will also review some of the known issues that you may encounter when you set up SSL encryption for the first time.

This is a Level 200 session that was recorded April 23, 2002 and presented by Kevin McDonnell. Kevin McDonnell is a Technical Lead in SQL Server Support. He joined Microsoft in June 1995, and has been using SQL Server since version 4.2.
