Session Summary

In this session we will discuss challenges you may encounter while deploying SQL Server 7.0. We will review some common issues related to setup (installation best practices as well as things to avoid), common connectivity issues, how to deal with and be prepared for disaster recovery (backup and restore, log shipping), and memory allocation (memory leak).

This is a Level 200 session that was recorded August 29, 2000 and presented by Reinaldo Kibel. Reinaldo Kibel joined Microsoft as a SQL Server support professional in January 1999 and has developed content and training materials to be used by internal support professionals. Reinaldo currently works on the Server Down team for SQL Server and is also involved in developing content for the upcoming release of SQL Server 2000. Prior to Microsoft, he worked as a Software Engineer for EDS as a lead developer and prior to that worked at a series of healthcare-related development companies. Reinaldo received his Master's degree in Computer Science from University of Texas at Dallas and has designed and developed software and hardware for many years.
