SYMPTOMS

While you are using your computer, you may receive an error message that is similar to:

xanax.exe has encountered a problem and must be closed. We apologize for the inconvenience.

If the error message is still displayed and if you want to see the data that the error report contains, click the click here link at the bottom of the message box. You then see error signature information that may be similar to:

CAUSE

This issue may occur if the Xanax.exe virus is present on your computer. Xanax.exe is a virus that affects Windows. This virus may arrive as a file that is named Xanax.exe while you are using programs such as chat or messaging software, or an e-mail program. The Xanax.exe virus also tries to distribute itself through these or similar types of software.

This virus may arrive in an e-mail message with this format:

Subject: Stressed? Try Xanax!

Body text: Hi there! Are you so stressed that it makes you ill? You're not alone! Many people suffer from stress, these days. Maybe you find Prozac too strong? Then you NEED to try Xanax, it's milder. Still not convinced? Check out the medical details in the attached file. Xanax might change your life!
