SYMPTOMS
When logging is enabled for FTP services, the amount of bytes transferred is not accurate if the transaction is aborted before the transaction is complete. If the connection is aborted before the file has been transferred, logging shows the complete file size instead of the actual number of bytes transferred.

STATUS
Microsoft has confirmed that this is a problem in Microsoft Internet Information Services 5.0 and Microsoft Internet Information Server 4.0. This problem was first corrected in Microsoft Windows 2000 Service Pack 4.
