SYMPTOMS

When you print an Adobe Acrobat Portable Document Format (.pdf) file, the page layout is correct. However, the text is printed as squares. You may experience this symptom when one of the following conditions is true:

  • You log on to the computer as another user by using Fast User Switching.
  • You try to print the Adobe Acrobat .pdf file in a Terminal Services session.

CAUSE

This problem occurs because the print spooler runs as session0. Terminal Services sessions and Fast User Switching log ons run in a different session ID. The print spooler cannot access the font because the font is in another session.
