SYMPTOMS

You may experience slow connectivity to NetWare resources. A Network Monitor trace may show an excessive quantity of Read Property Value request frames that originate from the client and are requesting the network address of the NDS tree name. These queries fail with a "No such object" error.

CAUSE

This problem is caused by a logic error in the NetWare redirector.

RESOLUTION

A modification has been made to the NetWare redirector to reduce the number of Read Property Value packets that are generated.

Windows 2000

STATUS

Microsoft has confirmed that this is a problem in the Microsoft products that are listed at the beginning of this article. This problem was first corrected in Microsoft Windows 2000 Service Pack 3 (SP3) and Microsoft Windows XP Service Pack 1 (SP1).
