SYMPTOMS
If you try to connect from a Windows CE-based device that was built with Windows CE Platform Builder 3.0 to Microsoft ActiveSync on a desktop PC, the connection attempt may time out in less than half the expected time.
CAUSE
This behavior is caused by changes to the operating system. These changes introduced a thread-synchronization error between the working thread and the watchdog thread.
RESOLUTION
A supported software update is now available from Microsoft as Windows CE 3.0 Core OS QFE 81. To resolve this problem immediately, click the following article number for information about obtaining Windows CE Platform Builder and core operating system software updates:
