Ricoh 1394 Controller May Not Work with Windows XP

SYMPTOMS

When you try to establish a connection with your Ricoh 1394 controller, your computer may stop responding (hang), or you may receive the following error message on a blue screen:

Stop 0xA (0x200000e3, 0x2, 0x0, 0x804f54ce)

CAUSE

This problem can occur because of a logic error in the code that resolves names on the 1394 device.

RESOLUTION

To resolve this problem, obtain the latest service pack for Windows XP. For additional information, click the following article number to view the article in the Microsoft Knowledge Base:

STATUS

Microsoft has confirmed that this is a problem in the Microsoft products that are listed at the beginning of this article. This problem was first corrected in Windows XP Service Pack 1.
