SYMPTOMS

In a Terminal Server session, creating a 16-bit OLE server from another 16-bit program makes the 16-bit OLE server start in a separate VDM. If many Terminal Server users run this same software, this leads to a large number of extra VDM sessions. This creates substantial overhead that may have a negative effect on the performance of the Terminal Server. Running the same programs on the console of the Terminal Server does not start extra separate VDMs.
