SYMPTOMS
When you start the Import/Export Wizard in Outlook 2000 (in either the Internet Mail Only or the Corporate or Workgroup installation), you may receive the following error message:
You may also find that the Import and Export option on the File menu is dimmed.
RESOLUTION
To resolve this behavior, repair Microsoft Office 2000:
- Search for Mapi*.* files, and then rename to *.old any that have an .exe, .dll, or .inf file name extension.
- Locate and then delete the following files if they exist: Extend.dat, Views.dat, Outcmd.dat, Frmcache.dat, and Outform.dat.
- Restart the computer.
- Start Task Manager, and then quit the programs that are running, by clicking the program and then clicking End Task. Do this for all the programs except Systray.exe and Explorer.exe.
- Insert the Office 2000 CD-ROM into the drive, click Repair Office 2000, and then follow the on-screen instructions.
- Restart the computer.
