SYMPTOMS
If a resource account has been set up for direct booking, you can schedule a meeeting with the resource beyond the published free/busy time.
CAUSE
This problem occurs because the time that is beyond the published free/busy time is not secured against scheduling.
RESOLUTION

How to Set Up a Resource Account for Direct Booking
- On the Tools menu, click Options.
- On the Preferences tab, click Calendar Options.
- Click Resource Scheduling, and then click to select all three of the available options.
- Click OK three times.
How to Set Limits for Publishing Free/Busy Time
- On the Tools menu, click Options.
- On the Preferences tab, click Calendar Options.
- Click Free/Busy Options, and then enter the number of months in the future for which you want to publish the resource's free/busy time.
- Click OK three times.
How to Schedule a Meeting with the Resource
- Start Outlook on a second computer.
- In the Calendar folder, click Plan a Meeting on the Action menu.
- Click Invite Others, click to select the resource account, click Resources, and then click OK.
- Select a meeting start date that is beyond the published free/busy time.
The resource account's schedule appears as a series of slashes, indicating that there is not any information available. This does not prevent you from scheduling a meeting during this period.
