SYMPTOMS

When you view a table or query in PivotTable or PivotChart view and then save it as a data access page, the PivotChart toolbar is not displayed on the page as expected.

RESOLUTION

To work around this issue, enable the Toolbar property in the Pivot component's properties in Design view of the data access page. To set the Toolbar property, follow these steps:

  1. Open the data access page in Design view.
  2. Right-click the PivotChart object, and then click Commands and Options.
  3. On the Show/Hide tab, click to select the Toolbar check box, and then save and close the page.

NOTE: If you are using a PivotTable object, the Toolbar check box is displayed on the Behavior tab.

  1. Open the page and notice that the PivotChart toolbar is now displayed at the top of the page.

STATUS

Microsoft has confirmed that this is a problem in the Microsoft products that are listed at the beginning of this article.

  1. Open the sample database Northwind.mdb.
  2. In the Database window, under Objects, click Tables.
  3. Select Orders, and then click Open.

  5. Drag EmployeeID from the Chart Field List box to the PivotChart's Drop Category Fields Here area, drag Ship Via to the Drop Series Fields Here area, and drag Freight to the Drop Data Fields Here area.
  6. On the File menu, click Save to save the table's layout.
  7. On the File menu, click Save As, type Orders in the Save Table 'Orders' to box, select Data Access Page in the As list, and then click OK.
  8. In the New Data Access Page dialog box, click OK to save the page. Notice that the data access page opens and displays the PivotChart, but the PivotChart toolbar is not displayed on the page as expected.
