SYMPTOMS
When you attempt to install Windows Millennium Edition (Me), you may receive the following message:
Setup has detected that SOS-Best Defense is running on your machine. Please uninstall SOS-Best Defense using Add/Remove programs in Control Panel and then install Windows Millennium Edition.
However, when you double-click Add/Remove Programs in Control Panel, the program does not exist.
CAUSE
This issue can occur if you removed SOS Best Defense from your computer but the SOS Best Defense file Sea_gull.exe was not removed at the same time.
RESOLUTION
To resolve this issue, visit the following SOS Web site for information about a version of this software that is compatible with Windows Me:

WORKAROUND
To work around this issue:
- Click Start, point to Find, and then click Files or Folders.
- In the Named box, type sea_gull.exe, in the Look in box, enter My Computer, and then click OK.
- Right-click the file, and then click Delete.
- Run Windows Me Setup.
MORE INFORMATION
The message described in the "Summary" section is displayed because SOS Best Defense is not compatible with Windows Me. Windows Me Setup does not continue until this program has been completely removed from your computer.
