SYMPTOMS
When you start Exchange 2000 Server on a server that has Cirel X.25 cards installed on it, you receive the following error message:
CAUSE
The message transfer agent (MTA) does not start unless non-Winsock Eicon libraries are manually installed in a particular location.
RESOLUTION
To resolve this problem, obtain the latest service pack for Microsoft Exchange 2000 Server. For additional information, click the following article number to view the article in the Microsoft Knowledge Base:

STATUS
Microsoft has confirmed that this is a problem in Microsoft Exchange 2000 Server. This problem was first corrected in Microsoft Exchange 2000 Server Service Pack 1.

In Exchange System Manager, you no longer have the choice between Eicon or Winsock drivers as in Microsoft Exchange Server 5.5. Exchange 2000 fully uses the Winsock libraries for both Eicon and Cirel X.25 cards.
