SYMPTOMS
When you open a Word mail merge document that contains information from a Microsoft Access database, macros contained in the database may be enabled, and Word may not display the macro virus warning message.
This problem can occur in either of the following situations:
- You open the mail merge document as an e-mail attachment.
-or-
- You click a hyperlink to open the mail merge document that is contained in an Internet-defined, intranet-defined, or Internet Explorer-defined Restricted Sites zone.
NOTE: To determine the restricted zones that are defined on your computer, view the Security tab in Internet Explorer (click Internet Options on the Tools menu).
RESOLUTION
To resolve the problem described in this article, obtain and install the latest Microsoft Word 97 update from the following Microsoft Web site:
IMPORTANT NOTE: Microsoft Word 97 post-service release fixes are cumulative. The latest update contains all of the fixes since Service Release 2. If you install the latest update for Word 97, you do not need to install any other updates after Service Release 2.
