SYMPTOMS
Running stress tests over PPTP results in "Loss of network connection" error messages. After a PPTP connection is made, ping times increase to over two seconds, and then eventually time out.
CAUSE
A lack of synchronized access to global variables that are used to track time causes an NDIS timer list to become corrupted, resulting in a lost connection.
RESOLUTION
