PI: Error Message When You Attempt to Use Picture It! Cool Albums Templates 2 or 3

SYMPTOMS

When you attempt to use Cool Albums template 2 or 3 in one of the programs listed at the beginning of this article, you receive the following error message:

File Not Valid
The file you attempted to load is not a valid Photo Album Page.

CAUSE

This behavior occurs because the cutouts on the album template are grouped together.

RESOLUTION

To resolve this issue, download the content updates for the Cool Albums template 2 and 3 from the following Microsoft Web site:

To work around this issue:

  1. Click the Workbench tab, and then click Get Picture.
  2. Click Open Pictures.
  3. In the If you don't see the pictures you want, look in box, click the drive in which Picture It! is installed.
  4. Browse to the following folder:

    \Program Files\Microsoft Picture It!\Content\Projects\Album\General

  5. Double-click the TM2043 picture file (Cool Albums Page 2).
  6. Click the main picture to bring it to the front.
  7. Click the puzzle piece underneath the pictures to ungroup them.
  8. Click any picture on the stack.
  9. Click Save and Send on the Workbench tab.
  10. Click Save.
  11. Repeat steps 1-9 to replace the TM2044 picture file (Cool Albums Page 3).



NOTE: For these steps to be successful, a Typical installation of the program must be installed on your computer.
