SYMPTOMS

Active Scripting is enabled by default for restricted zones.

RESOLUTION

To resolve this problem, obtain the latest service pack for Windows 2000. For additional information, click the following article number to view the article in the Microsoft Knowledge Base:

WORKAROUND

To work around this issue, use the following steps:

  1. Click Start, point to Settings, click Control Panel, and then double-click Internet Options.
  2. On the Security tab, click Restricted Sites, and then click Custom Level.
  3. In the Settings area scroll down the list until you see the Scripting heading.
  4. Disable Active Scripting, and then click OK.
  5. Click Yes to verify that you want to change the security settings for this zone, click OK, and then close Control Panel.


STATUS

Microsoft has confirmed that this is a problem in Microsoft Windows 2000.

This problem was first corrected in Windows 2000 Service Pack 1.
