Steps to Reproduce Behavior

If you installed the standalone version of Visual FoxPro 6.0 or Visual Basic 6.0, rename the VFP98\setup\1033\setup.stf or VB98\setup\1033\setup.stf file, and then apply Visual Studio Service Pack 3.

  1. Install Visual Studio 98.
  2. Check the versions of Program Files\Microsoft Visual Studio\VFP98\VFP6.exe and Program Files\Microsoft Visual Studio\VB98\VB6.exe. They should be build 8167 and build 8176, respectively.
  3. Go to the Program Files\Microsoft Visual Studio\Common\Setup\1033 folder and rename the file Setup.stf as Setupbak.stf.
  4. Install Service Pack 3.

Note that some files are updated, Setup appears to proceed normally (although quicker than usual), and no errors occur.

  1. Repeat step 2.
