SYMPTOMS

When you access Microsoft Exchange 2000 Outlook Web Access (OWA) by using Microsoft Internet Explorer 4.0, Microsoft Internet Explorer 5, or Netscape Navigator 4.7, delegate users that are optional attendees appear in the Required field when the principal user's meeting request is read from the delegate user's Inbox.

STATUS

Microsoft has confirmed that this is a problem in Microsoft Exchange 2000 Server.

MORE INFORMATION

If the following scenario occurs

  1. The principal user of OWA receives a meeting request.
  2. A delegate user opens this meeting request in their own Inbox.

the delegate user's name is in the Required field on the meeting request form even though this delegate is an optional attendee. In addition, if the principal user is an optional attendee, the principal shows up in the Required field on the delegate's copy of the meeting request.
